Emotional wellbeing · Sunshine Coast
A retreat for stress, burnout and overwhelm.
Private time away when life has felt like too much: somewhere calm to rest, reflect and reset, shaped around you.
When you need time away to reset.

Stress, burnout, anxiety or a long run of difficult months can leave you exhausted, with little room to think. Sometimes the most useful next step is simply time away from everyday pressures, in a calm and private place by the sea.
Beach Health Retreat is a private wellbeing retreat at Cotton Tree on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, for one guest or one couple at a time. There’s no group schedule to keep up with. Your retreat is shaped around what you need, whether that’s mostly rest and sleep, someone to talk things through with, or a gentler routine to take home.
Deb and Ian plan each retreat with you before you arrive, welcome you, and stay in touch through your stay, as much or as little as you’d like.
What your time away can include.
Every retreat is personal, so the balance of rest, support and activity is agreed with you.
- Your own luxuriously comfortable, fully self-contained apartment by the beach
- Time to rest, sleep and slow down, with no group timetable
- Restorative massage and non-invasive bodywork with Deb or Ian
- Time on the coast and in nature
- A hosted sauna setup in the shared Sundeck Gardens sauna
- Optional counselling with Deb or Ian, if you’d like someone to talk things through with
- Gentle movement such as private yoga or Pilates, as optional extras at additional cost, subject to availability
- Main meals from local providers if you choose them, or self-catering
What’s included depends on the retreat you choose and your length of stay, and is set out in your retreat plan, with the price, before you book.
Which retreat suits you?
All three are private and non-clinical. If you’re not sure, tell us what’s been happening and we’ll suggest a starting point.
- Private Personalised Beach Retreat: if you mainly need rest. Restorative bodywork, time on the coast, the sauna and plenty of unstructured time. Optional counselling can be included as part of your plan.
- Counselling & Personal Reset Retreat: if you’d like regular one-to-one conversations to talk through what’s been happening and plan what comes next, with rest between sessions.
- Holistic & Alternative Retreat: if you’re drawn to Ayurveda, meditation and traditional practices, with a personalised routine to take home.
Stays are two, three, five or seven nights. Compare the retreats.

A calmer pace
Rest first. Everything else as you’d like.
Sleep in, walk the beach, swim, sit on the balcony or do nothing at all. The parts of your retreat that are planned, such as bodywork or a conversation with Deb or Ian, are placed through your stay so there’s support without pressure.
Private, personal and non-clinical.
Beach Health Retreat is a non-clinical wellbeing retreat, not a medical or psychiatric treatment service. We don’t diagnose or treat anxiety, depression or other health conditions, and a retreat isn’t a substitute for care from your doctor or mental health professional.
If you’re receiving care, please keep it in place. When you enquire, you’re welcome to tell us anything that would help us understand what you’re looking for.
If you need urgent help, call 000, or Lifeline on 13 11 14 at any time.
A few things you may be wondering.
Is this a mental health retreat?
Not in the clinical sense. It’s a private, non-clinical wellbeing retreat: time away to rest, reflect and reset, with optional counselling. It isn’t a hospital, inpatient or crisis service, and it doesn’t provide psychiatric or medical treatment.
Can I come if I’m experiencing anxiety, low mood or depression?
Many people look for time away during a stressful or difficult period. Because the retreat is non-clinical and doesn’t treat health conditions, please talk with your doctor or mental health professional about whether a retreat is right for you at the moment, and let us know when you enquire so we can talk it through with you.
Do I have to have counselling?
No. Counselling is optional. You can come simply to rest, or include sessions with Deb or Ian if you’d like someone to talk things through with.
Can a retreat help with burnout?
A retreat gives you time away from work and everyday demands, with rest, time on the coast and support shaped around you. It can’t promise a particular result; it’s a chance to step away and reset at your own pace.
How long should I stay?
Retreats are two, three, five or seven nights. A short stay gives you a pause; longer stays allow more rest and more time for the parts of your retreat that matter most to you.
Will I be in a group?
No. Every retreat is private, for one guest or one couple.
What does it cost?
It depends on the retreat you choose, its length and your food choice, and it’s set out in your retreat plan before anything is booked.
