Deb Pepperdine and Ian Trew

About Deb and Ian

We’re Deb and Ian.

We personally provide counselling in Cotton Tree, Maroochydore, and online by video or phone. You can start with an appointment on its own, with no retreat or accommodation booking.

Tell us who you would prefer to work with. We discuss your needs and agree the practitioner, format, session length and fee before you decide. Our love of people, natural living and the coast also shapes the private retreats we have hosted here since 2010.

Since 2010

A long-established Sunshine Coast retreat.

Beach Health Retreat has been welcoming guests since 2010. Deb and Ian bring that history of personal hosting and wellbeing support to every stay, from the first conversation to the time you spend here.

Our shared work supporting people began in 1980. Before Beach Health Retreat, that work included wellbeing services on the Sunshine Coast from 1999 and customised retreats in Noosa and on the Sunshine Coast from 2001.

Our approach continues to evolve around the needs of the people who come to us. What remains at its heart is a private retreat, personal attention and a plan shaped with you.

The people you talk to are the people who welcome you.

Your retreat plan sets out exactly who does what for your stay. In general:

  • With Deb or Ian: planning your retreat with you before you arrive, your welcome and check-ins, personal conversations and counselling sessions, massage and non-invasive bodywork, and hosted sauna setups. The practitioner for each is agreed when planning your retreat.
  • Drawing on Ian’s background: Ayurveda and traditional wellbeing practices on the Holistic & Alternative Retreat, and Ayurveda consultations arranged on their own.
  • With outside providers: main meals, and optional extras such as yoga, Pilates, personal training, beauty treatments and airport transfers, subject to availability.
  • The accommodation: apartments in a separately managed beachside resort, whose pools, spa, sauna and grounds are shared with other guests and residents.

Beach Health Retreat is a non-clinical wellbeing retreat, not a medical or psychiatric treatment service.

The way we see a retreat

Small on purpose.

Enough structure to be useful. Enough room to make the time your own.
