Mental health support on the Sunshine Coast.
Non-clinical support with depression, anxiety, PTSD, trauma and other emotional difficulties. Work directly with Deb or Ian through counselling sessions, a catered supported stay in Cotton Tree, Maroochydore, or a mix, with suitability and a personal support programme agreed before booking.

Looking for a mental health retreat on the Sunshine Coast?
It helps to understand the kind of support a stay provides. At Beach Health Retreat, a supported stay combines counselling and agreed check-ins with independent time in your own beachside apartment. You work with Deb and Ian on what you would like help with, the support available between sessions and whether this setting is suitable for you.
This is non-clinical support in a separately managed resort. It does not include hospital admission, psychiatric treatment, medical detox, medication management or continuous clinical supervision. Where you already have a doctor or mental health team, we discuss how any suitable support here could fit alongside that care.
If you mainly want rest and reflection, compare our emotional wellbeing retreats and Counselling & Personal Reset Retreat. If you would rather stay at home, counselling in Maroochydore and online sessions can be arranged without accommodation.
See our Cotton Tree location and meet Deb and Ian before making a short enquiry.
Know what support you’re agreeing to.
A supported stay combines agreed sessions and check-ins with independent time in your own apartment. For example, a day may include an agreed session or check-in and time to rest on your own; the balance is set out in your individual plan, not a fixed timetable. It is non-clinical support in a separately managed resort, with shared facilities and other guests and residents.
Before booking, we discuss suitability with you and set out:
- Who will work with you, and the sessions and check-ins agreed for your stay.
- How to contact us between appointments and what contact is available overnight.
- Your apartment, catering, practical needs, inclusions and privately quoted total.
- Whether this setting is suitable alongside your existing care, and whether specialist care is needed instead.
The apartment does not provide continuous clinical supervision, psychiatric inpatient care, medication management or medical detox. Keep your treating professionals involved where relevant. Sending an enquiry is simply the first conversation.
Asking for someone else? You can start with a general question using your own contact details. Please leave their detailed health history out of the website form; participation and suitable arrangements are discussed privately.

Personal attention from Deb and Ian
Counselling and mental health support with Deb and Ian.
This pathway is for people seeking focused help with their mental health and emotional wellbeing. It can begin with one conversation or develop into a personalised programme of sessions and support.
Deb and Ian provide the individual sessions. Together, we discuss what is happening, what you want help with and what kind of support could suit you. Other health professionals can be brought in as needed, with arrangements agreed with you.
You don’t need to have it all worked out.
You can enquire about support with depression and persistent low mood; anxiety, panic and ongoing worry; PTSD and the effects of trauma; stress and burnout; grief and loss; relationship or family difficulties; low self-esteem; loneliness; and difficult life changes.
You are also welcome to discuss needs connected with OCD, bipolar disorder, eating difficulties, addiction or substance-use concerns, and other complex mental health conditions. These needs may require specialist or medical care. We discuss whether our support can play an appropriate part alongside your treating professionals; listing a concern here does not mean we provide specialist treatment for it.
For alcohol, drugs, gambling or other addictive patterns, explore addiction counselling and supported stays.
From everyday struggles to serious and complex difficulties, you’re welcome to start a conversation. We assess suitability individually rather than assuming the same approach fits everyone.
Choose how you receive support.
Start with the option that feels manageable. We shape the details together.
Individual sessions
Meet with Deb or Ian without booking accommodation. Begin with an individual session or discuss ongoing support. In-person and online counselling options are available.
A personalised supported stay
Combine focused sessions with a catered mental health support stay in your own beachside hotel apartment in Maroochydore, Queensland. Catering is included in this support pathway. Your support programme, check-ins and practical arrangements are discussed before you arrive, so you know who is supporting you, how your days are structured and what help is available between sessions.
A personal support programme, with your choice at its centre.
We plan with you, rather than hand you a fixed timetable.
- Individual counselling and personal conversations with Deb or Ian
- Couples counselling or family counselling where appropriate and agreed
- Life coaching, practical goals and support with next steps
- Other health professionals brought in as needed, with your agreement
- For guests staying with us, rest, wellbeing activities and practical arrangements shaped around your needs
- A discussion about ongoing sessions or support after your stay
Your programme is individually agreed. Catering is included in the mental health support stay. If cost is a concern, you can ask for a lower-cost option without catering. Additional professional services and optional extras have an additional cost, subject to availability. Inclusions, availability and fees are confirmed privately before booking.

Focused support in a comfortable residential setting.
Stay in a private, self-contained apartment in a hotel setting, with focused sessions and an agreed personal support programme. The purpose of your stay is to work on what you are struggling with, with practical support and space between sessions. Deb and Ian work with you to arrange the support and practical details agreed for your stay.
You remain free to choose which sessions and optional activities you take part in. There is room to rest, spend time by the sea and change the pace through discussion with us. You do not have to fill every hour.
Before booking, we confirm contact arrangements, check-ins, support between appointments and what is available overnight. A hotel stay does not include continuous clinical supervision, hospital admission, psychiatric inpatient care or medical detox.
Making sure the support fits.
We begin with a private discussion about your needs, goals and any existing care. For serious or complex difficulties, we discuss whether this setting is suitable and how support could work alongside your doctor or mental health team, with your consent.
Beach Health Retreat provides non-clinical counselling and wellbeing support. Specialist assessment, diagnosis, medication and medical treatment remain with appropriately qualified treating professionals. We do not promise that every need can be met here.
In Australia, if you need immediate medical help or are in immediate danger, call 000. Outside Australia, contact your local emergency services. Enquiry forms are not monitored as an emergency service; our usual reply time is within two business days.
